MIDWEST BUSINESS AND U.S. GOVERNMENT LEADERS GATHER AT THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF CHICAGO
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Midwest Regional Council convening launch on 20th November 2024 enjoyed a stellar guest list. This exclusive invite-only convening was attended by senior leaders of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) that celebrates 40 years of existence, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies (Joint Center), the African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs, the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Ariel Alternatives, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Development (DCEO), the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the Regional Research and Engagement Leads of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Renée Johnson, 2024 AEO Senior Director Regional Councils, opened the convening and elaborated upon how partnerships continue to have meaningful impact, whilst Cassie Carroll Assistant Director at the EnergySense Resilience Center at the University of Illinois System confirmed that quantum momentum continued with an invigorated movement announced in October 2024 to build a quantum computer in the city of Chicago.
