Costume jewellery saw a sharp increase in demand in December 2021, which was consistent with the upward trend in jewellery sales generally. Retail Edge’s previous research highlights that costume jewellery experienced a strong rise in USD sales, indicating once again a consumer preference for fashionable yet reasonably priced accessories.
The data showed an increase of more than 21% from December 2019 onwards, as well as a notable spike of more than 42% from the same time last year. This increase demonstrates a growing customer preference for stylish options and a vibrant costume jewellery sector during the holiday season and year-end festivities.
