The International Journalism Festival triumphantly returned to Perugia in April 2022 after a two-year absence. We report from the Multimedia and Digital Business Directory as international journalists meet to address hot button issues on the news agenda, such as the advent of hybrid newsrooms, reader revenue structures, coverage of the climate catastrophe as well as media perspectives worldwide conflicts.
Journalism was seen as having a chance to reorientate itself towards serving readers as a public benefit as a result of declining ad revenue. The festival also emphasized the significance of combating prejudice against journalists and the requirement for international assistance in advancing press freedom across the globe.
