AEO Talks RECAP: CBC Small Business Power Luncheon 2025, 3/3

Latestsale.com, the 2025 Social Impact Media Partner of the AEO (Association for Enterprise Opportunity) concludes its recap coverage of the second Annual AEO Talks: CBC Small Business Power Luncheon 2025 that took place at The Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C., on September 25, 2025. We note how  Congresswoman Nikema Williams, of Georgia’s 5th Congressional District insisted in her keynote that Black business success benefits entire communities, arguing that when Black-owned businesses thrive, everyone benefits. She highlighted bipartisan support for minority business grants, stressing that talent is not limited.

Congresswoman Nikema Williams advocates for direct investment in Black-owned Enterprises

While Congresswoman Williams pushed for more mentorship, partnerships, and ecosystem-building to help entrepreneurs start, scale, and grow their businesses, Moderator Shayla Moon, Director of Government Relations at Digital Chamber guided discussions on technology, cryptocurrency, and capital access, asking whether innovation will expand opportunity or deepen existing divides. She encouraged business owners to consider how policy and innovation can support long-term growth.

Dominique Little, the Government Affairs Lead at Paradigm, and Kyle Bligen, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at the Decentralization Research Center discussed Web3, blockchain, and digital assets as emerging tools for business growth, capital access, and operational efficiency. Both stressed the importance of clear regulations and referenced ongoing policy discussions surrounding digital assets, stablecoins, and innovation frameworks, including the GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act) and CLARITY Act, Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025 (CLARITY Act), which seek to provide greater regulatory clarity for the digital asset ecosystem.

Technology as a Central Cornerpiece for Community Engagement

Shayla Moon, Director of Government Relations at Digital Chamber encouraged entrepreneurs to stay current with emerging technologies, emphasizing that digital readiness is essential to remain competitive and secure a voice in the future economy. Dominique Little, Government Affairs Lead at Paradigm joined the panel and contributed her thoughts on how technology can strengthen community engagement, expand ownership opportunities, and increase participation in digital finance. Little noted that blockchain, digital assets, and Web3 tools have the potential to reduce barriers to financial services, streamline transactions, and improve operational efficiency through applications such as payment processing, payroll systems, and smart contracts. Both speakers emphasized the importance of education, adaptability, and practical technology adoption to facilitate the uptake in small businesses and their subsequent success in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Chamber of Progress and BCA Culture, Exchange Ideas About AI Use Cases

Kouri Marshall, Director of State and Local Government Affairs at the Chamber of Progress and Darbi Dorleia, CEO of BCA Culture explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping business operations, capital access, and economic opportunity. Marshall noted that AI adoption is expected to accelerate over the next three to five years, helping businesses improve automation, payroll management, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. He also discussed concerns around regulation, liability, affordability, and access, emphasizing that Black business communities must have a seat at the table as AI policies are developed.

Dorleia highlighted how AI is expanding opportunities for minority and women entrepreneurs by improving access to funding, grant opportunities, investor networks, and business planning tools. She described AI as an enhancement rather than a replacement for workers, noting that technology can increase productivity while creating new forms of human-centered work. Both speakers encouraged early adoption, continuous learning, and responsible implementation, arguing that businesses that embrace AI now will be better positioned to remain competitive, build trust, and participate in the next phase of economic transformation.
