How are murano glass earrings made?

Latest Sale explains manufacturing techniques and answers the question; how are murano glass earrings made? With the Destino Jewellery murano glass earrings collection set to launch by 2020, we highlight the historical influence of the island of Murano in our choice of product design.

Murano glass is created exclusively on the Venetian island of Northern Italy, Murano. Murano glass is made from silica, soda, lime and potassium and is then melted together in a special furnace at a temperature of 1500°C to reach a liquid state.

The type of wood used to burn the furnace has often been referred to as a family trade secret by the various local artisans who dedicate themselves to creating these unique pieces of jewellery. This unique manufacturing technique guarantees exclusivity as no two designs of each pair of Destino Jewellery handmade murano glass earrings are the same.

The Destino Jewellery handmade murano glass earrings collection will be delivered in an elegant white leatherette designer jewellery box.
